Your First Week of Care is Free – Start Safely at Home with a Plan Tailored to You
Starting care can feel overwhelming, whether you’re coming home from hospital or simply need extra support at home. At Apollo Care Blackpool, we want to make that transition easier with a simple promise: for all new private clients, your first week of care is completely free.
There’s no obligation to continue. We use this planning week to tailor your care so you can live safely and independently at home.
Why we’re doing this
Our goal is clear: to help more people in our community be home and safe. Too many people stay in hospital longer than they need to, or feel pressured into decisions that don’t suit their life. Others worry about costs and delay getting help, which can increase the risk of accidents or a move into a care home later on.
We believe people should get to live at home for as long as they can, with the right support. That’s why we remove the financial pressure for the first week and focus on planning what really works for you.
Who is this for?
- Anyone starting care at home who wants time to try a routine without cost pressure.
- People coming home from hospital who need immediate support and a safe, tailored plan.
- Families and informal carers who want expert guidance to keep a loved one safe and independent.
We highlight hospital discharges because this is when timely, flexible support makes a big difference, but the offer applies to all new private clients.
The process: from your first call to the end of Week One
1) Call & triage (Day 0): Phone us on 01253 966440. We’ll take a brief history, understand immediate needs, and arrange a fast assessment. We’ll also explain eligibility (private self-funding) and share our welcome pack.
2) Assessment & introductions (Day 0–1): At home (or bedside for hospital discharges), we’ll assess risks, preferences, routines, and goals. We’ll introduce key carers so you know who’s coming — we do not send strangers.
3) Safe start at home (Day 1): Care begins. Typical support includes washing and dressing, medication prompts, meals, hydration, mobility and transfers, continence care, and wellbeing checks.
4) Planning week (Days 2–6): We’ll adjust visit times and lengths, refine tasks, and advise on equipment or simple home changes. Because the first week is free, we can tinker without fear of cost and focus on what works.
5) Review & plan (Day 7): Together we agree the ongoing support plan and transparent pricing. If you choose Apollo Care, care continues seamlessly. If you prefer an alternative, we’ll support you to transition safely — either way, the aim is achieved: you’re home, safe, and have a suitable plan.
