My brother has young-onset dementia, and though physically able, he is confused. Apollo’s carers are very good with him and engage in conversation during the visits. It is a good sign that I often hear my brother and his carer having a chuckle together. The carers all differ, some males, some females, some quite young and others mature but they all take an interest in their service users as people. They talk to my brother about his day, his interests and a wide variety of things, just like friends. One even plays him Rod Stewart and Elton John via his phone, during his visits, as my brother likes their songs. I am very impressed by their patience and understanding of my brother’s issues. Naturally, we have our favourites, but they are genuinely all lovely people, and I am very happy to have them caring for my brother.
